Cyclic Dynamic Evaluation of Logistics Services Stakeholders Based on System with OFN Model

2021

The challenge for enterprises and supply chains is to deliver successful logistics services in compliance with their aims. Logistics services are affected by many stakeholders. Recognizing their impact on the undertaken services is important for the planning and execution of a sufficiently rigorous stakeholder management process. The aim of the paper is to present a new approach to the analysis of stakeholders - cyclic dynamic evaluation, which could be used in service management, such as in logistics services. We present a novel fuzzy inference system based on the mathematical apparatus of Ordered Fuzzy Numbers (OFNs). The evaluation of stakeholders consists in assessing key factors as - f…

A Case Study on the Implementation of Stakeholder Management in Organizational Practice

2017

Recent research makes a strong argument for studying how organizations can implement a strategic stakeholder management approach. In this paper, we analyze an empirical case study in order to gain refined knowledge and develop ‘best’ implementation tactics, building on Plaza-Ubeda et al., (A case study of stakeholder identification and prioritization by managers, Journal of Business Ethics, 75: 1–23, 2010) conceptualization of the implementation of stakeholder integration (SI). The case study draws on a project concerning our own university, a private higher-education provider, which faces a new regulatory environment. In response to new legal measures, which include accounting for stakehol…

Integrating Holistic Marketing into the Stakeholder Management Approach

2016

The context of globalization and the growing pressures toward sustainable development are nowadays forcing firms to deal with a paradoxical situation: while undeniable engines and major beneficiaries of globalization, businesses are also sources for significant negative externalities that impact on the dynamics of the global system. In these circumstances, the sustainable business should not only represent a major strategic challenge but must also become an effective strategic solution. This is the transformational shift we are advocating for in this chapter, by the instrumentality of a strategic model that integrates holistic marketing into the stakeholder management approach. Based on an …

Multiple forms of stakeholder interaction in environmental management: business arguments regarding differences in stakeholder relationships

2010

This study describes and interprets differences in stakeholder interaction as rhetorically constructed in environmental reports and in interviews with environmental managers. It also interprets the role of the natural environment among stakeholders, and discusses how that role is justified or not justified. The study focuses in a business perspective on stakeholder interaction in environmental management. Characteristically, stakeholder studies of environmental management have concentrated on stakeholder influence or the creation of stakeholder management models. In contrast to those, the present study identifies different types of stakeholder relationships: power-based, collaborative, conf…

A Critical Review of Relations between Corporate Responsibility Research and Practice

2007

This essay identifies epistemological, theoretical and methodological problems in a potentially influential subset of the interdisciplinary corporate responsibility literature, that which appears in the management literature. The received conceptualization of stakeholder analysis is criticised by identifying six sets of factors conventionally considered as promoting social responsibilities in the firm: inter-organizational factors, economic competitors, institutional investors, end-consumers, government regulators and non-governmental organizations. Each is addressed on conceptual grounds, its empirical salience in terms of the latest relevant research and prospects to be a significant fact…
